Official IBR eradication plan: There are no national guidelines. In 5 regions of Spain (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León and Canarias) those farmers that are members of the ADS (Agrupación de Defensa Sanitaria) are only allowed to use IBR marker vaccines.
IBR-free certification: None
IBR herd/individual prevalence: It is estimated that about 50% of the herds are IBR positive, with individual prevalence 35 %.
Vaccination: Both conventional and marker vaccines (live and inactivated) are available and used in the field, but there is a clear tendency to use marker vaccines.
