IBR situation in Spain

• Cattle number: 6.65 m
• IBR status: Positive
• Official IBR eradication plan: There are no national guidelines. In two regions of Spain (Galicia and Asturias) those farmers that are members of the ADS (Asociación de Defensa Sanitaria) are only allowed to use IBR marker vaccines.
• IBR-free certification: None
• IBR herd/individual prevalence: It is estimated that 50% of the herds are IBR positive.
• Vaccination: Both conventional and marker vaccines (live and inactivated) are available and used in the field.
